Is Anyone at Plex looking at doing something like MoviesAnywhere.com?

Not only is DRM a major problem, but no doubt licensing would be the other show stopper.

While not everyone appreciates or uses it, the ‘on plex’ live tv and on demand content are likely the closest we will see to this feature request.

Because the providers of that content either own, or have purchased the right to provide that content through Plex - to be displayed in the manner they choose (Ad Supported).

To think they would allow Plex to display protected content they may own, or may have purchased the rights on - in any old manner (without their Ads), would be naïve - and likely illegal, to boot.

It’s NOT going to happen.

It would be a nice to have this (now almost 4 years old reqquest). Very frustrating with content on AppleTV(iTUNES), Vudu, Amazon, & MoviesAnywhere where I do not have the content (disk). Would be nice if PLEX could show my content (would likely have to give access to my accounts to plex). Figuring this isn’t going to happen, I created a new library called Streaming and was able to scrape & manipulate the info from those sites and create a small mp4 assigning each movie name to a file. Added all those to the Streaming Folder and now when I query a movie, it will display both Plex copy and if it’s on a streaming service. If I take it the next step, would like to pinpoint which service has access to that content. Currently that is a bit harder to display within Plex - EZ and ugly way would be to create a library for each vendor. just saying… I figure with more 4K content, I’m probably going to be doing a LOT less ripping of media for plex and more streaming versions.

This topic and all others asking for integration of a content provider are being closed. We do not have any control if a content provider wants to, has a compatible API or if they are allowed based on their contracts with content creators to resell the streaming rights to said content.

While we did contact multiple providers requested in various topics, if they do not get back to us , then no we are not going to push it. While in the past we left these content provider feature suggestion topics open as a reminder if one did get back to us, it is clear that they generally just become toxic with false beliefs and accusations about what we can or cannot do.

If you wish for a content provider to be be a partner and integrate with us you should contact that provider and suggest they contact us. If they are able to both legally and technically have their service integrate into our product we would happy to explore how to potentially integrate their service.
