Movies Anywhere ties together movie purchases from multiple sources - Google Play, iTunes, Amazon, Vudu, others - and permits access from any of those places or from the Movies Anywhere app/web. For example, purchase a movie in Google Play, then watch in iTunes w/o having to purchase again.
Adding support in Plex would let users watch DRM protected media while still in the Plex environment.
Plex stays in role as content aggregator and doesn’t have to deal with content acquisition, content licensing, etc.
A request for the same feature exists already, and it has more votes.
