Is anyone else really annoyed with how they need to set pinned libraries and their order every time on a new client?

This should be something that can be set on the Plex Server itself, implementing this should be a piece of cake compared to everything else. Not a single Managed User or Home User I know is amused with the amount of manual work required to make the apps consistent from room to room.

Surely this can be implemented, it is simple compared to other features.

Not at all. I think it was a brilliant idea. I have different needs on different devices, so the ability to pin different libraries on each is, IMO, a great feature.

Yeah, I also think it’s annoying because they are alphabetically sorted, which makes my Concert, Documentaries and Kids libraries be on the of Movies and TV-Shows, what messes up my Home.
I think Plex could at least preserve those changes throughout the devices per each user.

It is quite annoying. And even more : the fact that by default no libraries are pinned. Why not the opposite and let them unpin what they don’t want to see in this device ? Today a user, when connecting a new device won’t find anything except the « live tv » and « free movies » that are by default always pinned !

Obviously no default setting can please everyone. But, just like the default remote streaming at 720 2mbs, Plex seems to chose the less user friendly option by default, then rely on the user to improve their experience. Which in real life translates to « well your Plex stuff is complicated, I’ll just go back to Netflix ».

What annoys me is having to do it every time on the SAME CLIENT. Every time I use my Roku app I’m prompted for what to pin…and it hasn’t remembered the choices from last time.

We do want it to remember a default set chosen by user eventually. It is part of what the web app currently does this with Settings Sync.

That should not be. The only way i can think of that happening is if the app is running out of memory. Do you pin a lot of things or have lots of home users? if your sign out of back into app then select pinned sources, does it still do it after that? Which Roku do you have?

it does not sync on different devices which is very annoying having to rearrange and pin libraries on each individual device(android, chromecast with google tv etc)
