Is HDR blocked for Linux

Player Version#: Plex Desktop 1.109.0 (snap) with custom mpv 0.40

I have been trying to enable HDR on PLEX for quite a while now at first I thought maybe it was just an outdated version of MPV given that the options required to enable HDR were not available after updating to 0.40 internally from 0.38 the parameters seem to be accepted but still no HDR but by now I feel like it is blocked somewhere else given what the logs say.

[MPVEngine] Changing Refresh Rate/Resolution/HDR is disabled. :C

MPV just on its own works perfectly fine with HDR content but Plex doesn’t even if I update it to an MPV version that does support HDR.

Are there any options that can be used to maybe unblock the option?

EDIT:
I did some more research currently it seems to be a limitation by mpv that it cannot use libmpv with gpu/gpu-next which is required to have HDR but I think they are working on it.

Workaround:
If you get casting to work :D. You can use plex-mpv-shim with local mpv config and it will allow you to watch your movies in HDR on Linux. Unfortunately, plex casting doesn’t work for me and many others.
Now I use jellyfin & jellyfin-mpv-shim which works perfectly

HDR in Plex HTPC is only supported on Windows.
