Is It Possible to Choose Which GPU is Used for Hardware Transcoding?

I’ve got a box with a i7-4770 and a GTX 550ti and I’ve been trying out hardware encoding. I’ve noticed that the quality is quite poor, and it looks like Plex is using QSV to decode and encode the video. I want to try out CPU decoding and NVENC Encoding, to see if the quality improves, but there are no options to specify one GPU versus the other.

Thoughts?

Did you ever try the encoding with the 550ti? Just wondering how it worked.

you can’t specifically choose which gpu, but generally will use whichever is the primary adapter (ie whatever the bios or OS chooses/configured as the primary display).
