As the title says, I want to use my quadro p2000 to transcode for plex in freenas. Is that possible?

Only intel VAAPI is supported in freebsd so no that’s currently not possible.

Depends, right now it would be windows probably.
On Linux we do support nvenc but not deconding (yet). However it might be coming in a future update.
I don’t have information on dates though, but if you want to wait a bit maybe you could use a Linux distro.
For FreeBSD it’s complicated to say if this would even ever be supported, but we did add VAAPI support a while after Linux, for nVidia it might take a bit more effort though.
EDIT: Update on this, some time has past and doesn’t like there’s much interest so far form nvidia/freebsd to have CUDA support so this will likely never happen from FreeBSD, at least not until the OS it self supports it, FreeBSD does have an history of best support for intel/amd! In any case for something like this to ever happen FreeBSD/FreeNAS (maybe iXSystems) would need to support it first!
