Is my Plex Server Transcoding 4K content?

Server Version#: 1.19.1.2645
Player Version#:4.25.2 (plex app for tizen 5.0)

Recently acquired a new RU8000 Samsung tv only to later realize it doesn’t play DTS audio (disappointing). Anyway, I’m adding a copy of the DTS stream to the file as AAC (using ffmpeg). This addresses the issue of having to “direct play the video” but “transcode audio”, although I have an issue or 2 with a specific file.
My main question is, I noticed even when the tv information is telling me the file is direct playing both audio and video, and also saying it’s direct playing:true, I can still see some files created in the Plex Media Server\Cache\Transcode\Sessions
Does this mean it’s transcoding? CPU in my server is not high to indicate this, but I assume I/O on my SSD is going to be impacted?

transcode sessions are normal, plex sends contents as ‘chunks’, not streaming a whole file directly.

what does the dashboard say @ Plex Web > settings > dashboard

it will tell you if direct play or direct stream (remuxing container) or transcoding

It says direct play for everything.
the thing is, I never noticed this at all in the past.
I just tested a smaller file on my previous samsung TV (using Orca’s plex app) definitely doesn’t do this. Same file on the new RU8000 also not creating any session on the cache folder.
