Is plex Kodi going to be free or plex pass only or other?

As we all know its in bets under plex pass being bug fixed and tweaked but iam unaware of its future status.

Is it going to be usable by anyone who already bought plex…plexpass only or a separate buy?

Seeing as how this is being made for a open source platform then idea of paying for it seems rather a bad idea.

Thoughts info?

It is currently available as a ‘preview’
This means it is not finished, yet.
One of the perks of the Plex Pass is access to ‘preview’ versions.

I cannot tell you definitely if it will be freely available once it has been declared as ‘finished’, but I reckon it ‘very likely’.

Hopefully so as it would be nice to see the open source clean and without the headaches it could cause otherwise.

Personally I wouldn’t count on it ever getting publicly released. Development seems to have ceased there for months now with no new builds, features or bug fixes coming in and the devs hired by Plex and reassigned to other projects.

That and the fact that the add-on will not function anymore on Kodi 18 makes me think it won’t see a bright future, but that’s just my opinion at this moment.

p.s. I can really recommend PlexKodiConnect by the way, it’s way better then PlexForKodi anyway, actively developed and freely available.

It’s a shame they would stop developping it. I use it on my Kodi box (Pivos XIOS XS) and it is working great.

I was using PKC before but I didn’t like that I could not see the extra videos. WIth the official pluggin it is possible.

But if you don’t want to pay, PKC is the best if you wish to use Kodi.

Will that’s not great but not a surprise either.

Kodi being open source would make it hard to put out a version for kodi that money could be made off of and this is a business after all.

Pleckodiconnect is great although the interface could use a tad more polish but hey its always being worked on

Apparently its not a beta anymore and is working on kodi.

Decided to stick kodi on the media pc and for a laugh did a search of addons for plex.
It found one and i installed it to be plex connect but once i did the code activation i realized it was plex addon and it appears to be working perfectly fine.
