Considering Plex Pass subscription

Will having the Plex Pass increase my chances of getting support’s and/or developers’ attention?

I am setting up an offline system (Movies, TV Shows, Music) and won’t really be needing Plex Pass per se, but I am willing to buy it to (a) help the development of Plex, and more importantly (b) be able to resolve a few problems I currently have.

I’ve been a long time Kodi user, but not being able to use Kodi on either my Samsung TV or my iPad made me look for alternatives. Plex seems to be the best one so far.

Cheers.

There is not a different level of support for Plex Pass subscribers

Plex won’t be right for that. It requires regularly internet connectivity.

Thanks @BigWheel and @OttoKerner.

Unfortunately, this seems to be the case (internet is required). I’ve tried various suggestions in the forums and none worked so far.

Is there any chance of getting devs’ attention to this? I am a programmer myself and I am willing to do the leg work if I can get my hands on the code (PMS running on RPi and PMC running on Tizen 6).

Have you looked into Jellyfin?

Depending on your use case, Kodi (used the way it was intended) might be for you. I use it at my cabin. No internet required. PC connected straight to the TV. You can’t share anything out.

@AmazingRando24 I have an iPad and a Samsung TV neither one of which is supported by Kodi and is the reason I am looking at alternatives.

@CodeCat5 yes I am looking into it now. Not as nice as Plex and their Tizen app is “in development” (with no commits for the past 4 months).

I will try out their iPad app when I get home tonight and see how it goes.
