Is Plex Pass required to enable subtitles?

Server Version#: 1.15.2.793-782228f99
Player Version#:
I have recently installed the free version of Plex Media Server on my Windows 10 PC & have begun adding movies to the Library. At this time, I intend only to use Plex to view movies on this PC, not on TV or any devices, local or external. The problem is that so far I have not been able to enable subtitles. In account settings - Agents I have selected OpenSubtitles.org & LocalMediaAssets (Movies), but this is not working. It seems excessive to have to pay for premium service only to enable subtitling but is this the way I must go?
As a secondary issue, how can I cancel a movie that is playing? So far, I have only been able resume or return to the beginning.

Plex Pass is required if you want to use On Demand Subtitle Search. At least while it’s in preview mode:

On demand subtitle search is launching in preview for Plex Pass subscribers. The Plex Media Server owner/admin must have a Plex Pass.

Beyond that you’re free to have your own embedded or external subtitles (no restrictions there).

What exactly do you mean by cancel?
Resume and play from beginning are the two logical choices.

Thanks for prompt reply. I mean remove item from “Continue Watching”.

Mark it as played or unplayed
