Is Quick Sync tone mapping working again on Linux?

Recently I saw a lot of complaints about tone mapping not working on Linux with Quick Sync. I think this went on for a few releases.

I cannot find any forum or reddit threads with a current update on the problem. Is it safe to upgrade my Ubuntu server to the current production release or is something still known to be flaky?

Is there a way to subscribe to updates on specific issues like this?

Fixed in 1.29.1 builds.

You can subscribe to the Plex Media Server release announcement thread to be notified when updates are released. Scroll to the bottom of the thread and change Normal to Watching.

That written, the problem with Quick Sync graphics was not specifically mentioned. It was fixed in the same release that Plex started including Intel Compute Runtime libraries with PMS.

Details are available in this thread:

To add to @FordGuy61

There was additional refinement for some of the newer processors in Forum Preview of PMS 1.29.2

After looking at the threads… I am still not sure if it’s fixed in the current public release.

Oh, interesting, I just noticed the download page offers you “Plex Pass” downloads. Are those betas?

Though, I update through the Ubuntu CLI, so I assume if I did that I would be getting 1.29.1.6316-f4cdfea9c.

here. Manually install 1.29.2 for Debian.

Thanks @ChuckPa , you always deliver.
