- I installed Rasplex 0.51 on Pi B+ and not able to add content from my hard drive
- But when my PlexServer was active from my PC, Rasplex was able to detect and show the info which is not what I want
I wanted to install Rasplex on my Raspberry Pi with a goal to have my Pi as the main Plex server where I could connect my hard drive and access via iPhone app or via PC also to cast to TV (via Chromecast)
I just copied this from the rasplex.com home page. I'm pretty new to Plex, so I don't have enough experience to be very helpful. But, in the absence of any other replies, I thought I'd provide some input. I intend to set up a Rasplex, as well, and I always understood it to be a client.
The perfect client companion to the Plex Media Server, the Raspberry Pi mini computer becomes the perfect appliance for viewing your media on every TV in your home.

IS this possible?
Rasplex is just a client. A Raspberry 1 isn't powerful enough to run a plex media server.
Some people seem to have had some succes running a PMS on a Raspberry Pi 2, but it will be a kludge. The USB drives with the limited data bus aren't going to provide a great experience.
