My app just upgraded to the latest version. Is the downloads feature removed? I can see in the settings that you can configure Downloads section, but when I browse to a show, I can’t for the life of me find the downloads button
It’s still there.
Though, at the moment you can only download seasons and episodes, not entire shows.
aaa yes you’re right. I see it on a Season but it doesn’t have the ability to select for example Next 3 unwatched episodes

Has there been any comment on why this feature (the more selective management of Downloads, i.e. “next three unwatched”) was changed?
I don’t see anything about it in the Changelogs, which leads me to think it was unceremoniously cut from the (IMHO, awful) iOS app update. Possibly for “didn’t allocate dev resources to building it” reasons.
For those who find this feed in the future…there are at least some of us who would like to see the more selective, and show-wide, episode auto-download feature returned.
