Is the technical support any better with a paid Plex subscription?

As the topic says. Just Asking. coz of this:

Thanks

Plex Pass doesn’t change tech support options.

My advice would be to get a ā€˜mainstream’ streaming device. Let’s you worry about fidgeting less and watching more. Heard good things about the Shield, Apple TV, Roku and the Chromecast with Google TV although I hate the remote that came with it.

Good luck

Chris

The answer is NO.

Are there many movies misnamed, incorrectly linked???
I tried to watch a movie that I was tremendously excited to and it wasn’t even a glitch. No many how many times I try to view the movie, it plays a completely unrelated film.

Is there support with paid? I have paid and i don’t know of anything other than the community here. I have posted a fair few requests for help in the community, and i think we have an icon on our avatar if we are paid members, but in my experience that is no guarantee of a quick reply, nor in some cases any reply at all.
I know in some similar forums the company seem to have a tier of paid staff forum members who, among other things, scoop up the remainder of questions that the unpaid community have not resolved. It isn’t the best system, but at least it guarantees some level of support. I haven’t noticed that with plex, i think it is just down to luck and interest.

I’ve noticed that it’s kind of hit or miss when a forum gets support from a developer, but when they do it’s pretty in-depth and helpful. I think that if you get no help (most likely because nobody here - including me - has an idea), then the devs ought to jump in and get involved. Sometimes, people @ a dev and they get usually get involved.

Thanks.
Much as I like the Plex MediaServer I think I’ll have to give it up. The Plex app on my Android TV boxes is crippled by the Layout dialog that will not go away and the Fire-TV device plays for 25 minutes and then stops with a black screen until revived.

Pity.

Cheers

that’s useful to know @Divideby0 - i shall use such @ dev power wisely , thanks.

we had a cheap android tv box that was a layout pain in the ā– ā– ā– ā– . it came with two remotes, one regular and one full mini keyboard. that was our problem, we found sticking to one remote type solved it. whether you can blame this on plex or the box i don’t know.
i am more surprised by the firestick problems, ours has been perfect - though we do need to reboot the stick every few days. i guess this clears a boggy cache of some sort. I can believe i’m about to say this, did you try turning yours off an on again? I’m not taking the mick, before plex we never had cause to reboot the stick, so worth mentioning just in case .

Nope. I don’t know why I even bought it. It’s easier to access my home nest camera then it is to stream on Plex. I really wish there was a better option.

Try Emby and/or Jellyfin. There are youtube videos comparing all 3.

I’m having the same issue with the Layout Dialog after just updating the server. very annoying… on an android Z8 Pro box using Android 7… Always worked fine before update… ;(
