Library Display Limit of 1000 items for Photos?

I am trying to determine whether or not a problem exists in my installation of Plex or not. I have multiple users in my home and on each of our mobile devices, set them to perform camera uploads to their own directory within a shared ‘Mobile Photos’ library.

This weekend, one of the other users of my Plex server uploaded a video they took and informed me to go look at it. I went to do so except that it didn’t show up. First, I suspected a problem with the upload, as the Camera Upload from Android sometimes (rarely) has issues and forgets to do so. However, as I investigated a bit more, I happened to notice that the last picture shown was 1001, and that the identifier of ‘how many in folder’ showed more.

This isn’t the only library that does this. Suspecting maybe Plex itself, I went digging into the logs but was unable where to go. Looking on the Plex Android app, however, and it showed me all of the items in the library, making me now suspect it is a Plex Web App issue.

Can anyone from Plex confirm a 1000 item display limit on photo libraries?

Also seeing this issue, Seems we cant sort by date its always oldest first (bit odd to have it that way) you can never see you’re new photo’s in the mobile photo library.

I have the same limit in Plex Web App. 1000 Photos per directory.
However, Plex Media Player or OpenPHT are showing >1000 photos.
Seems like a limitation.

Now my Question: How can I create a photo playlist, if I cannot access the 1001st photo and onward??

Same here… Any news on this? The Android app does not exhibit this behaviour…

End of October 2019 and this issue is still present.

One of my photo libraries has 4700 items in it, plex only see’s just over 2000 of those photos…
