Is there a Timeout Setting missing?

I know there is a plex setting for Passout Protection and I always make that Never but it seems like when I pause the video for like 10 min (like if I go help my kid or something) I come back and I’m booted to the profile selection screen.

It seems like an intended feature but the setting to “Timeout” or “Lock” feature seems to be missing. It is wayyy too fast. I want to set this to never or an hour or something. If it times out, on my plex desktop it shows that I “paused” it even if the TV is off.

This is a Fire TV setting for its screensaver. I haven’t checked on FireOS lately but most android based devices can’t turn this off.

I thought Plex’s passout protection is for when you have your client constantly play episodes of a show back to back. After a while, it may do one of those Netflix-like “hey, are you still watching?” prompts, and if you fail to respond it shuts down.

Pausing for 10 minutes is when the TV or player enters screensaver mode. Plex itself has no screensaver.

Value is in minutes. Terminate any sessions which have been paused for a longer time than specified amount of time. Audio-only sessions and live sessions are excluded

It’s not the screensaver in the fire tv. This brings me right back to the plex profile picker. The tv doesn’t shut off for like another 10-15 minutes after I’ve already been booted to the profile selection screen.

I’ll look into this.

Are you coming back to a blank screen and when you hit a key you see the user picker? If yes, that is the screensaver feature kicking in. Try and see if you can catch it when it does this. Does the paused image just switch to the user picker? I’ve never seen that happen. Do you see the startup animation? It’s possible the app is crashing which will also take you back to the user picker.

No blank screen. It just kicks me to the profile switcher and sits there. As soon as I enter my password in again it loads me straight back into the show or movie I was watching.
