I really hope this bug is fixed soon! (And not SoonTM!)
See attached screen shot.

Can you get us the MediaInfo for that file? Also let us know if this happens with all your videos or only with certain?
I did get an issue with one file as well, but only one. And it was centered. Not up in the left corner as you have.
Agreed with Atrus here. davidawbrown I'd really like to see the media information for that file.
We've filed a bug with Sony about anamorphic playback support on their platform. They absolutely have a bug there.
Sorry for the late reply - I have notifications turned off on this post (whoops!)-
From what I can gather it's only on Breaking Bad -
Possibly season 1 - Although I haven't checked that out.
Below is the media info-

624 x 352. That gives an aspect ratio of 1.7727272727. Something for mseeley to look into :)
It’s all of season 1 amd season 2 like that.
No other tv shows appear to have that problem.

Hi Dave, thanks for that information!
Turns out, I think you found a new bug. The video stream in your information doesn't include the `anamorphic="1"` flag. So, there's something else at play.
Would you mind terribly sharing a 1-2 minute sample of one of these files? Looking through my test files I don't have one similar to your video.
I can then use your video snippet to find the root cause of the issue.
How about it? Sound okay?

@mseeley
Anything I can do to help.
Regards
Dave-
Plex Version 0.9.11.7 -
Ubuntu Server - 64-bit
Above it the link to the whole file, 350MB (approx)-
I tried the sampling but received an error-
dave@home:/$ /usr/lib/plexmediaserver/Resources/Plex New Transcoder -i /server/2TB_HDD/TV\ Shows/Breaking\ Bad/Season\ 1/Breaking.Bad.S01E02 -t 120 -map 0 -c copy output.avi -bash: /usr/lib/plexmediaserver/Resources/Plex: No such file or directory
(That is the location of my Plex New Transcoder)
It's a 64-bit ubuntu 14 server
If you would clear up the howTo on this I will just replace the file in dropbox.
PS.
I so glad I found a bug! (I love helping and being part of a community!)
Regards
Dave
Hi Dave, I grabbed the sample and deleted the link. Thanks a lot!.
Perhaps the spaces in the binary name are confusing things a bit. I added some "\" escapes in "Plex New Transcoder"
dave@home:/$ /usr/lib/plexmediaserver/Resources/Plex\ New\ Transcoder -i /server/2TB_HDD/TV\ Shows/Breaking\ Bad/Season\ 1/Breaking.Bad.S01E02 -t 120 -map 0 -c copy output.avi -bash: /usr/lib/plexmediaserver/Resources/Plex: No such file or directory
