Is there a way to handle/prioritize two different tuners?

Hi, I just got an HD Homerun Extend, and am transcoding video to H264 hq using that, before it passes through Plex. That allows me to have two channels on or recording at the same time.

I also have a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-955Q, allowing one stream or recording at a time. It does NOT have the ability to transcode before passing through Plex.

So my question is: Is there a way to tell Plex that I want to use the HD Homerun for recording (because it’ll have a smaller file size), while using the Hauppauge mainly for watching live TV, or for a potential third recording? I would really like the option to prioritize what each one does.

short answer: No.

long answer: you can force plex to use specific tuners for specific channels by splitting the channels across the different tuners.

for example, channels 1-20 are enabled on tuner A, while 21-40 are enabled on tuner B.

otherwise, no there is currently no user controllable way to determine what tuner plex uses for what recording.
