Is there a way to make a folder, in a folder?

Hi there. Im new to this and i need some clarification. I want to make a folder inside a folder, or i guess a tag. Basically i want to make a general Marvel one and INSIDE that smaller folders with mcu phases, spider-man, x-men etc. Is there a way to make this?

Also what settings should i use for a quiet experience? I do have a ruzen 5 3600 and a 2070 super and id love some quiet settings while streaming. I will play a few 4k files too.

IMO it is better if you don’t think about Plex Libraries in terms of folders.

You can make a collections in your library. Items can be in more than one collection. You can have a Marvel Collection, MCU collection, SPiderman collection, Xmen collection etc

It’s not a full feature request but there seems to be some issue with current per collection viewing rule for current implementation. For example, The Return of the King is part of Lord of the Rings collection as well as Oscar Best Picture collection in my case. I’d rather hide individual items for Lord of the Rings collection. Nested Collections

A nice feature(for me at least) would be to have collections inside collections. For example. Have one overall collection called Star Wars, with the Prequel, OG, and new trilogy collections inside of it. Same kind of thing for the LotR/Hobbit movies. I’m sure others will find other uses for it. Maybe genre collections, actor collections, etc.

yeah thought so…thats how i have it right now, for marvel alone i have like 6-7 collections but i wanted to unify them under a bigger one. any tips for quiet playing settings?

Sorry, my server runs on a Mac Mini with media files on a NAS that are in a different room than my TV, so I don’t really think about stuff like that. Haven’t built a computer in ages.

If you’re planning to play files on your TV, consider moving your loud server to a location away from your viewing location, and get an inexpensive item like a Roku Streaming Stick or a Fire TV Stick. They can plug into your TV, usually (not always) get power from your TV’s USB port, and are completely silent. No fans at all.

The Plex app on the stick will play the file from your computer, and in many cases, the server won’t even need to transcode it, so it won’t have to spin up the fan on the server.

Plex actually runs as a server and a client, and they don’t need to be on the same computer. So if you’ve installed Plex Media Server running on a computer, and are watching on the same computer, that’s great. But you could also have a different client who can access that computer over your network, and watch stuff on it. It’s one of the coolest parts about Plex: It allows you to watch stuff without sitting at that computer.

yeah im thinking buying a secondary device at some point, i was just curious on what i could do for now.
for my current set up, i launch plex server on my pc and open the plex app on ps4 that is connected on my tv. all in the same room obviously
