Is there really a Windows version underway?

Just read the LG Press release you had a link to on the main webpage and this part triggers some questions:

Is this true? Is there a Windows version in the making? Or has LG been misinformed? If there is one in the making, will it be the full suite, being both the Player as the Media Manager part? What about a linux version? That last one I think is even more wanted than a Windows version of the Media Manager.

Any feedback you could give us on this would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Edit: nevermind, it seems [Elan's blog post](http://elan.plexapp.com/2010/09/02/plex-and-the-future-of-television/) explains the whole deal :) Great stuff guys, great stuff indeed!

It’ll be nice to have a Windows client. My wife has a Windows laptop and this means that I’ll no longer have to mess with XBMC.

I have read the blog post several times and it still isn’t clear to me if the planned windows version will be comparable to the OS X version, or will it be just the Media Server with no playback on windows?

It is the Media manager that is planned for the Windows platform, wich makes sence. LG cant sell TVs for just Mac users.

Buy a Mac, iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, an LG TV or BluRay player or even a jailbraked ATV2 to use as your Plex Client.

of course, that’s not to say someone can’t make a 3rd party windows client for PMS… oh look they’ve already started: http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/18026-plex-client-for-win32-alpha-02/
