Windows version by end of 2010?

No news?
Hello!

Been keeping an eye on these pages since .9 came out.

Am using PMS on my macbook, however have been hoping to move it onto my Windows media server.

The LG press conferance stated:
"Plex for OS X is downloadable for free, with a Windows version to be available later this year."

Whether that is referring to PMS or just plex, im not too sure, but I cannot find any official infomation on this recently.

Any updates as to when its likely to be released?

I’ve been waiting for this also. I have a Windows Home Server that contains all of my media. It would be ideal to move PMS to that box instead of having to leave my iMac on all the time.

I also would love to have this directly on my WHS even though I have three macs in the house.

I agree, a Windows version would be great. I have been watching these forums as well. We have 4 iPhones and 3 2nd generation appleTV’s in our family. I have a Windows Home Server and would love to be able to run Plex on it and stream to all of my iOS devices.

I want a windows version as well.

I’m running XBMC on my windows machine and PLEX from my laptop but it’s annoying having to connect the laptop to my 2nd TV all the time.

I want to get an apple tv running hacked with PLEX client and have it pull from my windows machine.

Hopefully soon ?

Really? I read the Engadget story about the LG Press Conference and they didn't mention Plex at all.
Instead there was talk about LG's "SmartTV" platform that LG is said to be very proud of.

Hmm. Has SmartTV replaced Plex on LG? Or are they one in the same?

That's the announcement from September 2010. But no news from LG at CES today. Hmm....

Plex is still there...if you look at the photos, there is one particular one that shows "Powered by PLEX" at the top right hand corner:

So, does the new LG “Smart TV” include “LG Netcast with Plex”?

Engadget says “SmartTV picks up where NetCast left off…”

Im puzzled aswell. Plex gets no mention by LG @ CES & Windows PMS is delayed. Hope its not canceled. Dont wanna use my iMac for this anymore.

It was said in the chat area that the Windows client is near… How long now?

Is the Windows Client coming to beta soon? Or the Windows Plex Media Server? (Or both?)

I’ve not seen a windows client mentioned by any of the Plex team. The windows PMS though is just around the corner by the looks of it.

There is a thread on the forums discussing the development of windows client. No idea the state if it though.

Jonny

how do you gather PMS is just around the corner? Sources?

many sources, he’s right, trust him

Considering the delays Plex 9 had, why should anyone? I’d love for it to be true though.

Actually, no special info, just an integration of forum posts, shouts and tweets have led me to that conclusion. Sounds like I’m a little more optimistic in my interpretations than the RockStar

It only makes sense that with the CES announcement of LG SmartTV rolling out shortly the development team is focusing most their efforts on getting a Windows version of PMS into users’ hands. I’m sure that’s why things have been quiet For the past few weeks as far as updates are concerned.

"Since we last previewed LG’s Plex-based Media Link app in August, stability has improved dramatically. The demo unit on the show floor was streaming from a Macbook Pro running Plex Media Server, but LG told us that Plex for Windows should be released this week (the rep already had a copy)"
