Issue : Collections in Music library

Hello,
When I create a smart collection under a Music libray, it goes under “playlists” and not under “collections”

I just tested this and cannot reproduce your experience.
Are you sure you picked the Smart Collection option in the Save As menu of the Advanced Filter (the save-as button has options to create regular playlists and collections as well as smart playlists and collections… so it’ll be an easy error to make)?
If so… on what version of PMS and what version of Plex Web are you experiencing this (e.g. hosted or bundled)?

Are you using the hosted web app or are you accessing Plex Web through your server’s local address?

Maybe not a video but you could describe the specific steps you went through and what exactly you clicked.

yes.

  1. Went to a music library
  2. then the Library section under music library
  3. Create a smart collection (last item on the menu)
  4. Click “save as”, give a name “test collection”
  5. then I find it under “playlists”

This is actually called Advanced Filter. It is for both playlists and collections.

Click “save as”, give a name “test collection”

Did you click on “Save as”. The default is a playlist. You need to click on the drop down arrow and use “Save as Smart Collection”.

aah ok, the default is playlist even if I have choosed smart collection before, which is bit confusing. so in step 4 choosing again save as smart collection works fine.

Where did you pick collection the first time? Do you mean you made another Smart collection before? That choice isn’t saved and “save as” is always defaulted to playlist.

this is the actual procedure :

  1. Go to a music library
  2. In the Library section under music library
  3. Click on create a smart collection (last item on the menu)
  4. Click on the arrow close to “save as” in order to choose “smart collection” otherwise it will b saved as smart playlist, then give a name “xxxxx”
  5. the smart collection created and found in the collection tab

Ah, I see what you mean. I’ll bring this up with the team. I don’t think it does what you expect, which is what’s confusing.
