Issue playing BluRay rips on PS4

I am having issues playing some BluRay rips on my PS4 Plex client, and was looking for some advice.

The server is a local server running on Unraid Pro. it is running in a needo/plex:latest docker on a dedicated SSD and everything is fully up to date. The server never seems stressed with CPU, RAM, LAN, and I/O all being well below 50% at all times.

The issues I am having are distortions and tearing that happen at random times, but seem to happen more when there is a lot of action on screen. I have re-ripped and even bought new media thinking that it might have been a bad BluRay. I have tried every setting I could think of to no avail.

My network is all Gig Lan, Netgear switches, Cat 6 Shielded Cables with dedicated IP’s on everything.

The server hardware is:
OS: Unraid 6.19
Docker: needo/plex:latest
Plex: 1.0.3.2461
CPU: AMD FX-8320E Eight-Core @ 3200
M/B: MSI - 970 GAMING
RAM: 8GB DDR3

An example movie is:

can you post the media info xml of the file you are trying to play.

https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201998867-Investigate-Media-Information-and-Formats

I have attached the XML file from the movie. Sorry for the delay, Unfortunately work has been hectic.

Edit:

I experience the same issues on an Xbox One, So this must be a server issue and not a PlayStation issue. Unfortunately though I’m still no closer to figuring out why these movies will not play.

Can anyone tell if this sort of thing is most likely an issue with the way I am ripping the file or an issue with the server/playback device?

No one has any ideas? At this point PLEX has become useless as I cannot play any BluRay rips now.

Here is a video showing the distortions I am talking about:

youtu.be/47pv3KeEcgc

Try making the video 1920x800, The PS4 has a very hard time playing 1920x1080. My Roku plays 1920x1080 just fine, but my PS4 just errors out.

PS4 supports to play MP4 files with H.264/MPEG-4 AVC High Profile Level4.2 video codec and AAC LC, AC-3 (Dolby Digital) audio codec, make sure the Blu-ray ripped MP4 are encoded with above settings.

technicalty thats only a half assed comment. yes it supports that format however depending on however powerful your server is the more easy it is to transcode videos. some servers can even transcoðe on the fly, meaning if there using a powerful server capable to transcode on the fly. it should be able to play blurays in formats that differ from mp4. so basicly the ps4 and others can plays lots of containers however it depends on the server not really the app itself then again the app can play factors if its haaving issues with not funtioning how it needs to so if the app wont play the files and you use a top tier nas or pc most likely its on the apps end has nothing to do with the format not being mp4.
