Hi,
Since I updated PMS from v0.9.15.6 to v0.9.16.6 on Synology, MKV Files with DTS audio triggers ineffective audio transcoding.
It keeps buffering each 20 seconds on average on Plex client for SmartTV (WebOS here).
Video is direct streaming as usual.
I reverted to v0.9.15.6 and MVK files with DTS audio transcodes properly without buffering.
Is this a known issue ?
Regards,
Toni
To further add to this, with the release of 0.9.17.2 trying to watch anything with DTS transcoding on my Synology DS214play has become literally unwatchable. Attempting to play it results in a blank screen and an eventual timeout trying to play the item. I tried to pre-optimize it, and the audio is transcoding at 0.1x time. There definitely seems to be something going on with the transcoder and DTS on low powered CPUs :-/
Any update on this ? Release notes of later Plex versions don’t mention any fix of this bug.
As this bug been acknowledged by Plex ?
Toni.
As of PMS 1.0.0 all codecs and the transcoder core have changed.
If you have your existing installation SPK files, you can easily test any newer version you want and go back if you don’t like what you see.
If you do go back, please provide Logs and XML. It is impossible to properly diagnose without all the data (“Debug” logging not “Verbose”).
