It appears that when I enable DTS audio the PS4 Version suffers from buffering issues every second. (Perhaps because it is the second audio track?)
PD: I have a wired connection

maybe it has to do some kind of transcoding or somthing what are you using to run plex ?

You are absolutely right, for some reason it's transcoding despite the fact that the server is local with Gigabit ethernet and I set the maximum quality for both video and audio on the PS4 App. And it's not just DTS it is transcoding AC3 audio as we'll. It starts a process called "Plex New Transcoder"
It is lacking an effective "direct play" option
well it has direct play but the video has to be one of the supported types info in link below mp4 typicaly plays no problem for me i havet really had any issues at all out of the ps4 plex app using a i7 930@ 4.2ghz for the server for plex but nearly all my files are mp4 few mkvs have transcoded not problem and i have dts turned on seems most people that have issues are using a nas that cant transcode or not fast enugh to.

All my files are either mp4 (HD) or mpeg2 (SD), the desktop app plays them as expected. I really really want to take my computer out of my room. I think I'm going to contact support for this.
OK I can confirm it is not a bug. Apparently the PS4 and PS3 version only support AAC or MP3 so the transcoding is a must : (
