thanks @elan, it’s releasing the audio device ~ 10 sec after playback pauses/stops (like it did on 4.2.2), and so far I haven’t had any issues with play/pause response (sometimes it took a while for me to reproduce, so will continue testing tomorrow)

How to install your beta file? I am on Windows with putty/ssh.
It’s not described in the github readme page.
same as the regular release, just overwrite the files.

It not gets the beta file and i cannot see how interrupts if to overwrite the files.
you might want to just wait for the release, then. this would require some terminal knowledge to install. once the release is made. presumably the script will work with it.

I did see that on the release post (Plexamp Release Notes - #46 by elan), there was the manually procedure with the tar file, but i cannot see it anymore. Did you remove it?
Maybe you can post it again. I have some computing knowledge, enough to follow 
Several hours running the beta this morning and I have yet to see the pause problem occur - I think in the amount of time I’ve been running it I would have seen it by now with 4.3.0.
I also am not seeing any issue with releasing the Alsa device, though I had not actually tried switching from plexamp to moOde with 4.3.0 so hadn’t noticed that symptom before. I just tried it now with the beta and no issue.

For anyone else experiencing this issue, I discovered a handy way to upgrade to the beta is to run the following:
./plexamp/upgrade.sh -beta

it did not work, insteak it renamed plexamp to plexamp.last 
Same issue for me but slightly different. Android Phone as the controller, whenever the phone went to lock screen, if I opened/unlocked the phone to pause, it would keep playing and not pause, it would keep flipping between play and pause but music continued throughout. I would have to either change to another device and back or long hold on the pause button to gain control over the pause play button.
Installed V4.3.1.beta.5 and it seems to have fixed the problem.
