Issue with Plex Media Server not removing unavailable files

I’ve had an issue for a little while now where media that is flagging as unavailable are not being auto removed from my library. I have followed Unavailable media not removed when emptying trash but it is not resolving. I intentionally have it set to my library scans periodically and to empty trash after each scan. I’ve gone to settings > manage > troubleshooting and did both optimize database and clean bundles. I’ve manually emptied trash of my different libraries where media has been moved/deleted, but the unavailable media remains. I move media from time to time or download a different version of a TV season (or had a hard drive die on me recently and had to download new versions) but the old media info isn’t being removed. I’m having the same issue since about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I’m also having to manually match every show that I add, though I’m not sure if that’s a more recent problem or if they’re related at all.
