Issue with video playlists over 100 items

Hey all, new here, tried searching around here and the subreddit and endless amounts of googling, but I seem to have come across a plex issue with playlists that no one else has seemed to… namely, if you have a video playlist of over 100 items, and set it to repeat, it won’t repeat the whole playlist, it’ll just try to replay the final video in the playlist and fail, putting itself in a sort of spiral until you intervene. 100 items? Goes back to the beginning just fine. 101 items? “Death spiral”. I know apparently this issue’s unique to me as no one anywhere seems to have even mentioned it, but usually just put playlists on for something in the background to run while I work, and I have lots of shorts and such, like a Merrie Melodies/Looney Tunes collection, and it’s just kinda annoying to have one playlist of a series that’s 100 items and then another of the rest of the series that’s like 5 items. So, on the off chance anyone has heard of this and/or knows a work-around, it’d be appreciated XD.

Please specify the Plex client type you are using.

Oh, sorry sorry, yeah my setup’s a Plex server running on my pc with Win11, server updated to latest, a Ryzen 9700X with 64gb DDR5 5600 RAM, and a RX 9070XT. This issue occurs regardless of where I try to play. I’ve tested it in Chrome, Firefox, and Edge on two computers. I’ve tested it using the stand-alone Windows app on two computers, I’ve tested it on our Roku tvs, and tested it on the iOS app on my phone. Everywhere seems to be the same issue. Anything up to 100 video files will route back to the beginning of the playlist if you set to repeat. Anything over 100, even just 101, it spazzes out when it finishes the final video.

So, you can only recreate the issue if you let the first 100 items play?
Or will it occur instantly, right after the first item has played?

Sorry for delayed reply, I’m testing everything again to be sure, as somehow, I’d never thought to test that specifically. Okay, it looks like if you start the playlist from the very first video in it, toggle repeat, and then click through until you get to the final video, it actually will go back to the beginning of the playlist if it has over 100 items. First time since I started using Plex like 6 years ago that I’ve seen it do that… but if you start somewhere near the end, like say, 10 files/episodes from the end, it will not repeat. Set up a test playlist of Parks and Rec (122 eps) and it looks like the cut off is around the 100th video, but I’m not really getting any consistency in my testing. Sometimes if I start at episode 101 it will repeat when you skip through to the end, sometimes it won’t, and I have to go back to like episode 96 before it will start properly going back to the beginning of the playlist from the final video. I made a test playlist of 101 video files, and that one it seems I can start from video 100. I’ll try a longer list later today, unfortunately right now I have to scram for work. Thanks a bunch already though, this is already some pretty good progress.
