After moving the Plex Media Center folder I’m having the following issues:
I can no longer save any changes to the library
Some tv shows and ALL movies say “content unavailable” when attempting playback.
All of these problems started after I moved my plex cache because it was filling my primary drive. I followed the method which involves copying the Plex Media Server folder from the user folder. I then added a string to the registry pointing to the new folder.
Prior to moving the cache I moved all of the content on the plex, but the issues only started occurring after the cache.

UPDATE: The issue appears to be database related. I rolled back to a database from BEFORE the ‘plex media server’ folder was moved. It did have to rebuild the libraries but it did it without issue and without losing any metadata.
Are you using the words “cache” and “folder” interchangeably? Where did you move it? When you get info on a movie or episode is the path correct to where the actual files are?
Perhaps a permissions problem? Does the Plex user have read permission to the moved directories/files? I had kind of a similar problem when I scp’ed some files from my Linux laptop to my Plex server (Linux). The files only had my user permission to r/w. The plex user didn’t have permissions and the files didn’t show up as being available.
How to change the cache folders location? i used this guide and moved the entire Plex Media Server folder and all contents. That’s when the issues started. I did everything here so I’m not sure what happened.
Right now the ability to access content seems to vary depending on what plex app is being used, but playing most content results in an immediate error. When checking the details on the media it’s all linked correctly. I can open and play the files where the plex says they are, but when trying to play them in plex they appear missing AND I can’t save any changes to the libraries when editing.
I’m using windows 10. I have linux experience so i thought it could be a permissions issue too. I’ve seen similar issues in linux, but it doesn’t seem to be the case here.
It’s worth noting I’m working on this plex for a friend so I don’t know ALL that may have been going on prior to my help. I DO know that the console was kicking back a lot of sql errors prior to moving things, but i assumed that could have been related to the fact the drive that folder was on was Literally full.
