Hi everyone, I hope your well! Unsure if this is the correct spot to ask and post.

So I recently received a Synology DS418Play and have set it up with Plex. My issue is when streaming to anything other than my desktop, there are several instances where the video won’t begin playing or will barely play at all.

Remote access is turned on for my server but every so often it turns the setting off or Remote Access becomes unavailable according to Plex on my NAS.

My internet connections are good and my hunch is that transcoding is fine but unsure entirely. I’m working mainly with 4k movies.

If there are any additional questions needed to be answered please let me know. Any help is appreciated.

I’ve got what sounds like a similar issue.
LAN playback from my Synology DS920+ is fine, but remote access doesn’t work. Gets the first frame of video and then nothing else, but audio continues on fine.
Have tested from my own mobile as well as having friends test too.
Also remote access keeps showing that it’s working, then not working, then working again.

Have you checked if it’s at least partly related to transcoding? I know mobile usually wants to lower the size of the video.

Maybe this issue?
