Issues with fast forward on Shield TV Pro 2019

Since the “New Player” was installed I’ve been having fast forward issues. This is an very annoying issue for me since I record and watch 5 NFL games per week and need to fast forward to get through them all.
Follows is a list of possible results when pressing the “Forward” button:

  1. Immediate 30 sec forward and resumption of play.
  2. Delayed forward with spinning arrow (a few seconds). Normal resumption of play.
  3. Delayed forward with spinning arrow (a few seconds). Play resumes with 5 sec delayed play of video.
  4. Delayed forward then play is Paused. Press pause to resume.
  5. Play is stopped with the message - An error occurred while attempting to play this video, Please check your connection and try again. A complete resumption of play is required.

I have 3 different servers, Mac, Win10 and Shield, these annoyances occur when watching content from all 3 servers. I have waited through about 5 player updates and 2 server updates to see if these issues get resolved.
Tonight I tried with the old player…NO issues. Please please get this fixed.

I have this exact same issue. You have described the problem very well.

I experience the problem mostly when watching NFL games from a remote Plex Media Server. I have 4 nvidia shield pro (2019) devices and it happens on all of them. Fast Forward seems to be much better on the local network.

I do not believe that Internet bandwidth to my remote Plex Media Servers is the issue because I also have a HTPC with the old Plex Media Player (Version 2.58.0.1076) and fast forwarding is much, much better with that older player. It is so much better that I now always use that to watch the NFL football games.

I would much rather use the shield pro to watch my NFL games, but until the issue is fixed, I guess that I will continue to use my HTPC with the old player.

In my humble opinion, I felt that the Plex app on nvidia shield was the best version of a Plex Player, but that was before the “New Player” was released. Ever since this new player, the Plex Player on the shield has been totally buggy.
