Plex on Android tv freezes when fast forwarding

Recently while watching a TV series whenever I try to skip ahead Plex freezes up and eventually crashes.
Latest shield pro, wired network.

I can play the same file on my 1st gen shield pro and fast forward/ skip ahead works fine.

I believe I’m having the same issue. First example was playing the first episode of The Office, went to skip intro, it froze with the spinning loop for a minute & then went to the next episode screen.
However, I was also experiencing an issue over the weekend with a few movies as well, mainly Caddyshack.
