So once applied they don’t need to be reapplied again?
The settings I gave you are persistent.
The Scheduled Task wrote configuration information for DSM to read when it starts.
If you ever need more than 32768 folders, you just
- Update your scheduled task’s values
- Run it again
- Restart the NAS
- Everything will be up to date

Nas has restarted, PMS is now starting and running its startup commands and scripts in the console. Im watching it running through things like :
[Notify] Now watching "/volume2/video/TV Series etc
(File removed)
New logs attempt number 2

The transcoder errors where it refers to “missing or wrong folder” will be gone.
Now, if there are any errors, they will be real issues.

As you grow (add more media), If you continue to structure it properly, the folder count will increase. (normal stuff)
The next time you increase it, increase from 32768 to 65536 (the next even multiple of 32768)
1 * 32768 = 32768
2 * 32768 = 65536
It’s that easy

When DSM 7 is released, you will probably need to run that scheduled task again.
DSM 7 is a very substantial overhaul of the OS by Synology.
It’s causing me a lot of grief from the development perspective
Do you think i should hang fire on downloading and installing DSM7 for a few months then?
I am the engineer leading the DSM 7 effort.
I am going to need time to finish preparing PMS for it.
I would wait until Synology releases their first DSM 7 update after “Release” status.
Right now, DSM 7 is only in " Beta". It is far too early to use it for “Production”
