Hi I have setup a plex server on a Raspberry Pi 3B Plus but I am having some issues they are listed below
1.I got to the Plex Server Web Interface I added my Media Files it scanned my files and everything is working fine but when I ether restart the Raspberry Pi or shut it off by pressing the
Power Button the Plex Server asks me to Set It Up again.
2.Sometimes my Media Plays which is music files other times It says cannot play Media file.
I was wondering if anybody knows any solutions to the above problems because they have me stumped.
I have followed the Tutorials on this fourm and have downloaded Plex Server from the download section
The Last time I restarted the Server It now says I do not have a server Installed?
Below is the OS that is currently installed on the PI
Raspbian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch)
I can not install another distro because I need a desktop like interface for when the Raspberry Pi is not being used as a Plex Server.
I am not a Pi user but if you installed the ARMv8 PMS from Plex,
It will run as user plex unless you changed that.
The reason it is asking you to setup again is because it’s unable to write to /var/lib/plexpmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Preferences.xml and save your account information.
The most common cause of this is how the filesystem was setup.
Again, if running stock plex, on ext4 formatted filesystem,
sudo chown -R plex:plex /var/lib/plexmediaserver
will setup the permissions.
From there, a normal restart shutdown ( do NOT abrupt “power off” Linux… It will not like it).
It must restart / shutdown itself in an orderly manner.
