I really like the improvements that have been made to the tv experience. They are a great set of improvements. One of the last remaining things that make it a bad DVR experience is you can’t really find the recordings.
For example, let’s say a set a basketball game to record. I come home and I know it’s about half over. So I want to go “somewhere” and see the recording there (in progress), click it and start it. But that doesn’t happen. The recording doesn’t show up in the library until it is done. I can’t even start watching it by going to the dvr schedule and clicking it from there. I have to literally go to the guide, scroll till I find the recording, and then I can start watching it.
THere are many use cases like this that really get in the way of it being a good tv experience.
While you should be able to access a recording of an item that’s still listed on the guide (hasn’t ended yet), there’s already an existing/older feature suggestion with more votes that’s discussing an option to see a list of all recordings in progress (with the option to jump right in).
I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.
