Seems like it would be a very handy feature to have a hub that was called “currently recording” or “recordings in progress” for those of us that like to start watching shows shortly after they start. It would be nice to not have to sift through the guide to try and find the recordings that are in progress.
If nothing else, make it so that you can start play back from the DVR Schedule screen. You can already playback recordings that have finished from there, so why not be able to play back a recording that’s still in progress from the same screen.

Per Live TV/DVR - No Way To Initiate Playback Of Live Recording During "Extra/Padding" Time
Can we get a “currently recording” listing so that we can actually access a recorded show, after it has run past its EPG finish time, but before the “padding” recording is complete?
Note that this is basically the same suggestion as one made over 2 years ago. I would suggest that it would be more impactful if these votes were redirected to the original suggestion.

If you indicate that a recording should be extended beyond the end of the program guide (eg: sports), and you try to access the recording to play it while it’s still recording, if it’s not on the program guide anymore (because the normal end time is passed), there is no mechanism I am currently aware of to play the recording.
Prior to the regularly scheduled end time for the program, you can access the recording through the program guide. After the end of the extended recording time, you can access it in your library. Between those two, you can’t seem to access it.
For clarity, this happens to me all the time with sports. I want to watch a game that isn’t over, but it is past its time in the program guide. I’m recording it, but I can’t play it. The current workaround for this is to try to line up programs to record after the end of the game, which makes the extended recording options somewhat useless.

Agreed! Most DVRs allow you to begin an in progress recording from the recordings screen. It’s awkward to have to scroll through the guide to find the channel of the thing you want to watch when it’s already being recorded.
The issue above qualifies as a crippling bug that breaks the fundamental software.
