I have the problem, that items of smart collections are not hidden in the library.
Is this for everybody?
I used already all settings, but I was not able to hide the items as I am doing for “normal” collections.

yes … but the same result. I have checked already every possibility.
Neither with the global setting “Hide” nor when I make the setting in the smart collection itself, the items are still shown in library

Because I assume the setting is only valid for “Library” as it is for “normal” collections.
hmmm… okay … party understood.
But then the setting “Collection Mode” for the “smart collection” is useless. Because in tab “Collection” the items inside are never shown. that’s why the “collection tab” is available to show ONLY collections without items.
So either movies included in smart collections need a collection tag or the setting “Collection Mode” needs to be deleted for smart collections since it has no meaning.

I have few Smart Collections and you’re correct. It’s not working for me either and I thought probably my config. Also, normal Collection are fine only issue is with Smart Collection.
Maybe a bug? Hope developers can fix it as it’s driving me nuts.
I fear they are not interested in fixing this, because I found some more sites discussing this. And it seems to be in for quite a long time.
I am using collections to keep my library simple and clear. That’s why I hide items in collections. And therefore - unfortunately - smart collections are useless for me.
There is this feature requests I came across which isn’t exactly for Smart Collections but has Collection hide/show priority issue: Collection Display Issue
I hope this thread catches someone’s eye and go to their bug-issue board.
Exactly, have same setup and want to use for that purpose.
But - as far as I understood - the other thread is about a conflict of the setting (different collections).
Let’s see and hope that some more people reply in this thread and a developer become attentive of this issue.
I have the same problem. I like automating the organization of movies using smart collections, but since this bug persists it is utterly useless for me. 
Here’s a server log. I am on the current version 1.25.3.5385.
Problem summary: Smart collections ignore the “collection mode” setting completely. It doesn’t matter what has been configured as standard behavior for a library and regardless of what you set up for a specific smart collection: Movies in smart collections always show up in the overview of all movies in that library. They are never hidden. “Dumb collections” work just fine, though: They do what has been set up as collection mode.
IIRC that’s by design.
Though Plex had previously commented they’re looking into this as the behavior is inconsistent (either to change it or to clean the incorrect options for those smart collections).
