EDIT; oops! - I misunderstood what you’re trying to do. Disregard my comment
I have fourteen smart collections in my Movie Library, a half dozen smart collections in the TV library, and none of them show up until I deliberately navigate to the Collections tab.
I think you have to set the option to just “Hide Collection.” Setting it to “Hide Items in this Collection” will hide all of the items in the collection and therefore display the Collection, The Movies/TV shows won’t be visible until you open the collection.
And also all these other movies should not be visible as they are all in Collections (either Smart Collections for something like Genre or manual Collections for Prequels/Sequels)
Are the affected movies part of not one, but several collections?
And if so, how are the visibility settings of these collections?
How is the general collection visibility setting on the library level selected?
I had an issue where my collections weren’t displaying properly. Collections showing in the library view or regular movies showing under the collections tab. Honestly, I can’t remember but it was messed up lol
The solution for that was to go to settings –> debug –>restore defaults
The warning sounds ominous but all I had to do was repin my libraries
It was a slightly different problem but might be worth a shot if nobody else has any ideas
The only thing that sounds unusual to me is having the library set to “hide collections” AND the individual collections. If that’s how the library is set, then “library default” should be the correct choice for the individual libraries.
I assume you tried that after the library setting wasn’t working?
