iTunes Library import is case sensitive and can't handle certain characters

Hi all, I’m adding my iTunes playlists and ratings to my plex library and I noticed an issue in the logs - certain files folders were not able to be imported. From what I can tell it has a problem when the folder name doesn’t match the case of the xml. For instance, I have a folder volume1/music/AFX/Analogue Bubblebath 5, but the xml shows volume1/music/afx/Analogue Bubblebath 5, the console generates a “could not find path warning”. Also, files and folders with characters like ö, é etc will also trip up the importer. Not sure what I can do because these are fresh exports from iTunes, the paths aren’t changing after the xml is created. Is this something others have experienced, is there a workaround? Thanks

I’ve discovered that part of this is a long standing issue with itunes library.xml, which is that if you change the capitalization of an album or artist after adding it to the library, the folders won’t update, so the xml will have the wrong path. Still having an issue with non-latin characters and letters with accents however, hopefully somebody has insight on that
