I’m not sure if I know how to do this, but what I did was open one of the xml files of a playlist and then copies a string for the song “Babylon Sisters” by Steely Dan, and it is as follows:
I have exported xml files from itunes on my PC to my music file on my NAS for each playlist and for my entire itunes library. I’ll try changing my drive letter and see if that helps.
Ok. I may understand. I have renamed the drive for my NAS as “Z”. The itunes library xml file is on my C drive and is C:\Users\Brad\Music\iTunes . The path to my music files on my NAS is Z:\Music. Which one of these do I put in the itunes plugin on Plex?
Ok. Will do. However, please confirm that the path I am supposed to put in the box under Settings>Plugins is the path to the xml file on my C drive not my Z drive(NAS), even though my Z drive has all the media files on it. Correct?
Unfortunately, the scan has finished and it has not imported my playlists and there are not three dots next to Playlists. I now have two files in my playlists both of which are named “Recently Added” but they don’t play if clicked. I also tried making a brand new music library so that I could click the “import from iTunes” in “Advanced”, but it didn’t import my playlists either. Thoughts?
Ok. So I never could get the playlists to work with my music on my Synology NAS, no matter what I did. I suspect it is the difference in file naming between my PC and my NAS, which runs Linux. So, I moved my music back to my PC on my F drive(where it was originally, pre-NAS), thinking this would fix it. It didn’t. I can’t seem to get my playlists to show up, even though they did when my music was on my PC before getting the NAS. I tried both to revise the plug in path for my iTunes xml file to the original location on my C drive and also to copy it and put it in the same folder as my music files on my F drive. Nothing has worked. Can anyone assist?
