iTunes ratings - give up on it now?

Hi there

I’ve been trawling through the **hundreds **of threads of people’s trial and error attempts at transferring playlists and ratings from iTunes to their music libraries on a NAS.

I’ve tried moving the iTunes xml file to a couple of places on the NAS, and have imported using the “Import from iTunes” check box. The basic tips re settings in iTunes have been followed.

Do I persevere and lose more evenings or just give up and start again? I feel that trying to replicate the postives of the iTunes experience is preventing me from just enjoying casting the music (the reason I have switched to Plex)!

I’m feeling your pain. I have a fairly simple set up (windows, itunes installed on same machine as PLM) and I have tried 3 times already to import the ratings and playlists. I really want to ditch iTunes, but this process seems unnecessarily difficult. Even if there were a more elaborate how-to written somewhere instead of trying to sift through all of these forum entries.
