Join the List: Disappointed Plex Product Direction

Quick lamentation on the general direction of the plex product. I use Plex for it’s original purpose… Storing and managing my own content… as lifetime plex pass owner I would prefer feature enhancements like:

  1. Native Audiobook support w/ it’s own metadata agent- no brainer, many a posts here requesting this feature over the years…
  2. ePub/PDF Document Library type support - like calibre, but Plex server version
  3. UI Enhancements on the Music player (i.e. larger Album Art Grid Views)

I would be willing to pay for an additional lifetime subscription if it had enhancements for Audiobooks or Documents View support.

Updated my post to be less passive aggressive, still would love to see these features

As do I for the most part.

Streaming services overwhelm everyone I know. Hence the push towards content aggregation by some companies. We already have access to content aggregators, rather good ones but Plex entered the market as well, albeit with a few stutters.

Plex, would I hope, have done their homework and decided the best path forward for them as a business although the Discover/More Ways To Watch fiasco was a little surprising.

Sure some things bug me that Plex introduce (the constant splash screen changes for example) and they continue to ignore feature options that some ask for (offline usage for example).

I’m just along for the ride as a decade PlexPass user .

I suggest you search https://forums.plex.tv/c/feature-suggestions/8
