Jotspot: a fast CLI tool for spotting potential problems

Hi!

Anyone else have a large collection? :raised_hand_with_fingers_splayed: I’ve got a large (enough) collection of media–thousands, if not tens of thousands, of files. Keeping all of these files in proper order is not always easy. Over time, I’ve noticed files ‘slip through the crack’ and fail to be imported into my library, for various reasons.

So, I wrote a tool to scan a folder and all of its subfolders for these problematic files. I call it jotspot. You can find the GitHub repo here.

It’s pretty young as a project. There’s still more to do. And, if I’m being honest, probably some bugs in there too. But if you like it, or hate it, drop me a comment

Cool tool, thank you.

Currently, plexlint is limited to linting movies, but the goal is to eventually be able to lint TV shows and music as well.

IMHO this is where there is more value. I find Plex to be pretty tolerant of weird movie filenames – to the degree that I almost never edit them unless I am using Editions. But TV and especially music, that’s where it gets picky.
