I’ve noticed ever since the UI redesign that when I’m in my Movies library the jump to letters on the right do not contain the entire alphabet. Currently the letters J;N;O;Q;U;V;X;Y are missing. There are movies in the library that start with those letters. I’ve grown accustomed to just going to the nearest letter then scrolling when looking for something in one of the missing letters. I asked a friend who uses the Xbox One app and they have the same trouble, down to I believe the same missing letters. Is this a bug that has gone unsolved since the redesign or is there a reason they are missing?
edit: The letters I;J;Q;U;V;X;Z are missing in my TV Shows library. The only letter without a show is Z.
Hi there. This is intended behaviour. Fitting in every character would mean decreasing the sizes of the buttons, to the point where it became difficult to visually identify them.
Seems counter-intuitive to have an alphabet that is missing characters. Prior to the UI redesign weren’t the jump to letters horizontal across the top of the screen? I have had multiple people tell me there wasn’t an item in my library just because the letter was missing from the jump to so they assumed there were no items beginning with that letter. Can these be moved back to a horizontal position that contains all of the letters? Obviously not a simple request but I feel it’s one that should be considered.
I also just used the app on a Fire Stick and noticed that the list of jump to letters contains the entire alphabet in a scrollable form so the letters remain large enough to be able to identify them and the whole alphabet is present. I maintain that it is asinine to have an alphabet that does not contain all the letters. Something needs to be done with this design on the Xbox app.
