I just paid for a lifetime pass and, while it says on my account that I have it, I don’t have the option to create a PlexMix, for example.
Does it take some time to kick in? This is why I chose to buy the pass and it doesn’t work.
A Plex Mix only works for premium music libraries. If you already have a music library, this cannot be converted to a Premium library. You will need to recreate your library as Premium.

No, it’s just like creating a regular music library, just choose the option for Premium during the setup. I would suggest keeping your existing and use both side-by-side for a while as a comparison.
Please note that creating a Premium library will take longer than a regular music library, so be patient.

That and just a general sanity check to make sure things are working before removing your old library. Just like you can’t convert to a Premium library, you can’t go back to a regular library either.

So I created a premium library and I still can’t make a PlexMix…

How did you try to start the Plex Mix playback?
I just double-checked and it seems to be working fine for me. You’ll have to enter the premium music library, drill down to an actual song (not just the “popular songs of this artist” list) – when hovering over the song, click the ... button, this should include the Start Plex Mix action.
OK. When I do all of that, I don’t get a “Start Plex Mix” action, only a “Play Plex Mix” and when I select that, nothing seems to happen.
Well… that was just my loose translation – Play Plex Mix it is.
When I click that, Plex Web will open the player – as my HDD took a moment to spin up, I had to click the play button in the player once more (at least I suppose it was related to that).

OK, well thanks for your help. It appears the right action IS showing up, it’s just not doing anything for me. I’ll see if updating the server helps or something. I don’t want to waste any more of your time. I appreciate the input.
Well, it seems like, if I play a song, THEN hit “Queue Plex Mix” it will build a queue for me, but it won’t just start one by hitting “Play Plex Mix.” So I guess that’ll work…
Hitting “Play Plex Mix” should work. If you can turn on logging in Plex Web, then recreate that issue and provide me the logs from both PMS and Web, I can see what’s going on.
I have a Premium Music library but only a small number of tracks have the Plex Mix option. How can I get Plex to add the required information to all my files. As others have stated, my tags are good and generally Plex has recognized them. Since I have over 12,000 titles there should be enough for a Plex Mix on any title, my Google Play Music account is able to create an “Instant Mix” on all of the titles in my collection. I’m looking at Plex to replace GPM, having Plex mixes working well will be a big factor.
