Plex Mix missing

Yesterday I upgraded to Plex Pass, so far the only features, the only difference I see is lyrics and sync. Plex Mix is no where to be found. I have about 24k tracks and no a single Plex Mix to be seen anywhere, the Chrome web app, direct on the server, on my Sony TV, on my Android phone. Nadda.

Plex Mix is only available in a Premium Music library.
This must be created new when you get the Plex Pass.
An existing (non-Plex Pass) music library cannot be converted.

Well that was never made obvious.

The Option to Play Plex Mix has been missing from my Premium Music library on my PMS for some time now. Really irritating and I don’t feel like reinstalling PMS or rebuilding my library database. Haven’t seen a solid explanation regarding the cause or a resolution. I have a lifetime PP.

Yeah it’s gone again. No Plex Mix option in a library build on a plex pass account with premium music option selected.

Is this option ever coming back? Still missing on a premium music library in Plex Web app.

Plex Mix is only available if

  • the library is a Premium music library
  • the album to which the song belongs has been ‘matched’ by Plex against the Gracenote database. So it won’t work with a collection of loose files which don’t belong to an album. If you do have an album, verify that it has indeed been matched. You can do so by clicking onto the ellipsis ( . . . ) on an album page. If there is a menu item Match in there, the album is unmatched.

Plex Mic is also usually not available in the list of ‘Popular Tracks’ from a particular artist. You need to either play the track and then go to the ellipsis in the player bar.
Or dive into a particular album and click on the ellipsis of a particular track in there.
