I am a Plex Pass member. Once I subscribed, I completely deleted my music library and added a new library so as to have a Premium Library. It looks like all of the music that was in my library at time has the Plex Mix option available. But it also appears that any musing I have added since does not have the Plex Mix option available. This is true no matter where I am in the Plex interface… Recently added music, In the album view or even in the song list for an album. All of the new music was added to the library the same way it was added when I created the premium library… downloaded vi iTunes and then copied to my Music Library folder. I have tried refreshing the metadata and updating the library.
It is almost as if, when you create a new library as a Plex Pass member, it creates a Premium Library. The when you add new music, it’s like it is adding the new music as a standard library. IF this is the case, the only way I can see to make it work would be to delete the library and add it back in. I have a library over 90 gigs. THat is not a very good option for me to do every time I want to add new music.
This happens on my iPhone app, in Google Chrome and in Microsoft Edge. I am running the latest version of the server as of June 28, 2017. I have seen a few posts regarding this issue but absolutely no one has even tried to address this.
So, what do I need to do to enable the Plex Mix option on the songs that does not offer the option?
Does the new music that you add get matched by Plex? You can tell by clicking on the overflow (’…’) menu for an the album. If the ‘Fix Match’ and ‘Unmatch’ options are there, then Plex matched the album. You can click on ‘Fix Match’ to be sure it was matched correctly.
The information that Plex Mix is based on comes from Gracenote, so if the album didn’t get matched, there will be no Mix option. It’s also possible that Gracenote won’t have the Mix information for any given album. This too will result in no Plex Mix option.
beckfield, Thank You. It appears that was the issue.
Weird though… Plex matched the songs and the album cover art. But it still had to click “match” and let it do it’s thing before I could use the PlexMix feature.
