Keep plex connection while VPN is active on Server PC

Hi all,

I am wondering if it’s possible to keep plex functional for connections when operating an openVPN connection on the server’s PC. Currently, it seems to lose connectivity to the outside network (which makes sense, since the VPN has changed the IP of the PC). Is there a way to ensure Plex continues working normally in a situation like this? I have not found any solutions on the web.

I’ve used https://www.reddit.com/r/PleX/comments/62h6ae/want_to_use_plex_behind_a_vpn_look_here/ to bypass the vpn for plex.
