Keeping Plex Android to Plex.TV connection live even after Phone locks?

I’m using my Plex.TV to control my phone Plex app that is connected to a bluetooth speaker. (I have no speakers on my computer and this is the easiest way to play music in the room.) However after my phone locks it my Android phone is no longer available as as player via Plex.tv. So I’m able to select a song or playlist and it will keep on playing but if I wanted to change the music I have to unlock my phone so the app reestablishes connection. – How can I keep the Android Plex app connection live?

Check your phone’s WiFi settings. Look for “Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep” and make sure it’s enabled. Without WiFi, can’t keep that connection alive.

That mode is already activated. It seems Plex stops broadcasting my phone as a player after a moment. I’m assuming it’s when the screen locks. Not a WiFi issue.

I’m not able to reproduce. What type of phone are you using and what version of Android does it have? I have a Samsung S6 as my daily phone and I can cast to it and it will continue playing music even after the screen goes off. I can even cast new items to it with the screen off.

Samsung Galaxy S5. Android 6.0.1.
