So I have Plex set up on my Mac Mini and it works great but every once in a while I will get a popup from something, like for example mobilme sync or something like that. I don’t think it will happen often but it can get annoying if you’re in the middle of watching something and it pops up. I was wondering if there is a way to force Plex to always stay on top of everything when it is in fullscreen mode. Any ideas?
I used to use the 'true fullscreen mode' setting from the Plex/Advanced Settings menu but it had some side effects. I am just experiencing around with the 'Float On Top (Command T) setting of the Plex 'View' menu.
I am talking about the menus of the Plex application itself, not menus of Plex' interface/skin.
im looking into something similar as a tweak.
a “turn the lights down” setting.
so when you start a movie, or a tv show, you can set your computer to
“do not disturb” via plex.
so email growls, IM growls, all growls in any shape or form are not intrusive. unless you want them too.
as I am ok with emails during tv shows, and random videos. but not during movies etc.
as far as the OP’s problems. I havent had an issue like that on my mini/plex setup. i control my notifications pretty strictkly so maybe thats why. but mobile me never pops up for me.
check to make sure the volume share your using for plex isnt the same as the mobileme share.
as since mobile me seems like a “Version tracker” so it constantly samples the data to see if changes have been made and re-syncs everything. so when plex makes changes to the database you will get a pop up probably.
check in the mobileme settings that you cant “schedule” your syncs, make them happen only at certain times… when your not watching anything. if you cant change your setup.
( lots of assumptions in this fix )
